The Dreams of Trees Unfold by Starlit-Sorceress The Dreams of Trees Unfold by Starlit-Sorceress
Inspired by my favorite part from the "Song of the Ent and Ent-Wife" (From LOTR)

When Summer lies upon the world, and in a noon of gold
Beneath the roof of sleeping leaves the dreams of trees unfold;
When woodland halls are green and cool, and wind is in the West,
Come back to me! Come back to me, and say my land is best!

After months of waiting and a devastating disappointment with super-glue, I'm excited to unveil...hairsticks!

Pick out your favorite charm or earring, and wear it in your hair. Even more possibilities in a set of two because I can design the second one with subtle differences.

Acrylic leaves are new too! Three different shapes and six different colors. Check out the full supply here: [link]

Is your hair abnormally attracted to snaggy things? Here's a version I made that doesn't have any open spirals: [link]

This almost makes me wish I didn't cut my hair short. The only reason I don't is because it took six hours to dry once wet.

I've thought about the kind of store I'd like to have. I think I'd want to team up with other fantasy artisans who match my style. I could never make enough jewelry to fill up an entire store, and my jewelry would look so much cooler if it was displayed with dresses, pottery, paintings, by other fantasy artists.

very cool, you are so unique .also the first time i heard of you by my friend i was really wow with your jewelry ! also you are very rare because most of these jewelry aren't found no where.where i live in texas it's all country style ,but me i am a huge nature person so i dress with nature .your jewelry reminds me of nature but victorian at the same time.if you were to open up in texas you would get allot of people going in and, out buying your style of jewelry.because hear in texas it's fantasy style is popular among the girls in school..also i like your idea for your store.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm glad I don't live in Texas. It sounds like there are a lot of other people who like fantasy style, so at least you're not alone. :)

For the sake of everyone trapped in Texas, I'm going to have to find ways to make online events just as awesome as in-person events. If your friends don't have deviantart accounts, they can keep in touch on my Facebook page [link] Eventually, I'm going to get a website and an email newsletter, but sometimes that seems almost as far away as the convention tour and the mall store!

I'm just curious, but where did you get the hair stick from? A friend and I have gotten into kanzashi flowers, and we'd like to attach them to hair sticks, but I cannot for the life of me find a place to buy them.

I got these from Fire Mountain Gems (website). They have expensive ones with "loops" already in place. With this one, though, I had to make the loop myself, and glue it in with epoxy.

Be prepared to spend a lot of time browsing. They have a TON of stuff, and it's only a good deal if you buy 15 items or more.

Everything in my gallery is available for purchase to one degree or another. I sell some, and keep others for myself, but most designs (including this one) I'm able to re-make pretty much exactly.

Not only did I spend a lot of time browsing, I bought lots of stuff! LOL Lots of great stuff to embellish the flowers with. C:

Well, I ordered this piece (if I did it correctly). I've had it saved in my message center since you shared it so I wouldn't forget I wanted it. LOL

Your order was just fine. :) I finished your piece last night, and photographed it a few hours ago....but the computer lab I'm in is Linux, not Windows, so my camera won't connect. :( I'll post the picture tonight.

Addicting is an understatement. Haha. <3

Oh Linux... such a nice open OS platform... but so bad when it comes to proprietary software. Good for programmers, bad for artists. xD The piece looks great though! I can't wait to see it up close in person! <3

I'm glad you like it. :)

Any time you can create "snug-ness" in a hairstyle, you can wear a hair-stick. The most obvious way is to put your hair up in a bun, but a ponytail works just as well.

Do you just stick it in the bun/ponytail? Bleh. You should post a picture of an example of what it looks like in the hair. :giggle:

I've never done action shots with my jewelry, but it's on my to-do list!

Until then, here's a pic I found on Google Images: [link]

From my research, I learned that the "real" way to wear a hair stick is to actually use IT to secure the bun without using any hairpins or scrunchies. :O_o: But I like the easy way much better!

Basically, make a bun or a ponytail, and stick the hair stick through. If the hair stick is too loose, then make the bun a little tighter and try again.

Definitely sounds interesting and looks cute from the photo. You should definitely try action shots! I actually think as far as selling/buying goes, I'd be more likely to buy something if I knew how it would look ON. Kind of like with makeup, I like seeing full shots because, yeah it looks good on the eye, but how does it make the face look? lol I don't know if I'm making sense. Anyways, it's super cute! :giggle:

Thanks! :) I had the color scheme all planned out for a while, but for the longest time, I didn't make any progress...partly because I was afraid of messing it up. But I should have realized my style is all about just being spontaneous because it was easy once I sat down and actually started twisting wire around beads.

I'm glad you like it. :)
